Anyone giving one single cent to these guys is no fan of Liverpool.
Bill Shankly turned down a job offer from Liverpool, ten years before he eventually took the job. His reason, because the board wanted to pick the team.
If non attendance is a good enough form of protest to a crooked board for Bill Shankly then who am I to argue?
hahah.. Yeah Banners and Vuvuzelas ... Classic.
In all seriousness, boycotting the game is ridiculous. We will bring the reputation of the fans down. Banners and mosaics are the way forward.
Make a statement, and then perhaps a chant like we did with the Hillsborough chant ''Justice for the 96'' Except '' get the yanks out'' or something.....
The best way to get those Yanks out is to have them "booooooooo-ed" 90 minutes in EVERY GAME, sing against them, show hostile banners about them, insult them and finally make their lives untollerable when they're in the game. Could I propose like 200 vouvouzelas in VIP seats next to them until they're off ? Do we have to make a crime for their crime ( leaving us money-less for so long ) ?
COME ON REEEEEEEEDS.
WE WON'T WALK ALONE, AND SO AS THE TEAM, IT'S DOWN TO IT'S DNA, THE ANTHEM JUST SAYS IT SO...
How about a massive banner that spans the whole Kop. You want media attention. Cameras wont be able to miss that. A 40 metre banner that states a our dissatisfaction with Hicks And Gillet. You get the same effect but were still there to support the team. Just throwing it out there.
I have to agree with the guys. The players and lfc are much more important than the owners. Maybe the mosiac but a message to tell the owners to leave is sufficient. Just make it big enough for the world to notice. Reverse it to welcome the players into the new season and let them know that our support for them will never ever waiver. Through wind through the rain...forever lfc.
We are SUPPORTERS are we not? Then bluddy SUPPORT or go home!
I love liverpool..i think this shouldnt happen.. Let's walk thru the storm together. Anyways we are not supporting these two guys. WE ARE SUPPORTING OUR CLUB.
95% of tickets are season tickets, bought and paid for well in advance. Your point about mercahndise is fair, but not supporting our team is only in detriment to the club. If we do not show support, the players fail to excel on the pitch. They fail to excel on the pitch, we fall deeper down the table. And before you know it, we end up like portsmouth. There are other ways of hurting the pockets of the yanks. Not showing up to the games is not a solution. It will only cause further fractions in our club, and casue an ever bigger mess to clean up afterwards. And let face it, this arguement is kind a mute point, as all you will end with is is season ticket holders boycotting, and the possibilty of having a packed Anfield stadium with Arsenal supporters.. Very unlikely yes, but have really thought this through. Weighed up all the pros and cons?
The yanks don't give a turd how you feel, or what you want. All they care about is the $$$'s, the quicker you wake up and realise this the better. The ONLY way to force them out is to cut out their precious $$$'s, by not buying offical merchandise,or a ticket for the game. WAKE UP.
You should be ashamed of your self for even thinking this. Rafa twisted the truth in the press and made you all hate the Americans because he wanted money on demand and dint get it. The club is financially sound we don't have to sell players. We've hit the recession what company in the world is going to throw big money. stop reading the bull sht and lies because some ones making money at the expense of our beloved club. YNWA
Absolutely agree with 'kop this mate'
I just don't think 'refusing to turn up on the opening day or walking out' is our thing. the liverpool fans get together in times of need and conjure up something special. Walking out or not turning up is just the wrong thing to do.
A potetnial buyer witnessing the walkout, wouldn't be overjoyed, and would probably think '' are these the famous fans, doing this to their own club?
the club is up for sale, and we are approching 15th July. I don't think there is much more to do?? Burning the american flag outside Anfield was an utter disgrace, lets not stoop that low again.
The fans should get together and back the team 100%. Rafa is gone now. Gone are the times of playing strikers on the wing. Lets get behind Liverpool and Roy and show everyone what makes Liverpool Football club so special. The SUPPORTERS
I love the sentiment behind this idea, but also have to agree with many of the other comments. What you're proposing will have more of an adverse affect on the team than on on the senior management and owners.
The only way to speed up the process of removing the current regime is to affect the monies coming in to the club, that means boycotting official LFC merchandise.
Remember that Hicks, and Gillette have now stepped aside and are jst awaiting there slice of the pie when the club is sold.
It is the financiers namely RBS and Wochovia who hold the aces, and it is only if the club cannot make payments upon the debts levied against the club that they will truly have the urgency to quicken the sale process.
Roll on the 15/07/2010 when hopefully the bids will have been analysed and due diligence can start for the potential new owners. And none of what is proposed in this post will be longer relevant.
foolish - this childish behaviour could lead to players wanting to leave! stick behind the team - the club will be sold - the banks involved have taken control of the sale - i.e. hicks and gillet cannot block a "reasonable" sale.. SO CHILL OUT!
